Three things for Sunday
17 Apr 2022 12:351. Sakura Con FAIL. Wow. By hook AND by crook, we managed to get Perry here for today so he could go to Sakura con. He and Linnea took the bus in, got there are 12:20, only to find out that... Linnea had forgotten her badge in the other car AND badge distribution had ended 20 minutes before and everyone had left. Big gigantic con, and there was nobody in charge to help either of them (or the other people in similar situations). We drove Linnea her badge (because this was The Day her fave voice artist in the whole world was going to be there... she did get to take a selfie with him and she is over-the-moon happy) and took Perry home. I have to say, I'm a bit annoyed. The don't mail badges and it's in person pick up only, or Linnea would have grabbed it for him yesterday. Ugh. I have to say... big con and nobody there is in charge after noon? TBC, we would not have bought tickets if we'd known this weekend's schedule but we bought tickets in November of 2019!) But sigh. I'm annoyed.
2. Dh just walked Linnea through navigating from the Convention Center DT to a bus stop three blocks away. She didn't understand quite how to read the street signs and ended up right next to Seattle's Murder and Assault Central area (she was at 4th and Pike and the problem area is 3rd and Pike, which is where she was headed.) Anyhow, she walks hella fast and was able to recover and get a bus back to the Eastside, where we picked her up.
3. All of this is about Perry and Linnea today. We talked to both of them separately and they'd be ok sharing a place (along with Perry's girlfriend Molly) next year. Perry checked with Molly too. This would be great for several reasons; I'm not above paying Perry to make things easier for Linnea to transition to more independence. The other good part is that it would be a rower's household with everyone on the early awake schedule. Fingers crossed. The best part for Linnea is that Molly wants to get a cat. Perry is of course fine with that, and it would really help Linnea. I think she misses the doves more than she misses the roommate at this point.
