New Year's Resolutions
30 Dec 2021 16:48Not really making any, I mean, not real ones. Changes that I've been wanting to make and have been planning on making, but am just using the excuse of the New Year to act on.
The usual one, to get out hiking at least once a month, is back. We usually do, but sometimes, in March or November, when it's cold or wet or muddy, it's only the small promise I made to myself that gets me to put on the hiking boots.
Two more things.
One is no more clamshells. They are not recyclable, and we're usually pretty good about avoiding them, but then the strawberries or blueberries at Costco are so tempting and they worm their way back into my house. I'll find and buy local, though last year, even local blueberries were sold in clamshells, sigh. But I'll work at that.
The other is to send more mail. I hate that there is nothing interesting in the mail any longer so I'm going to start sending people (recyclable) cards. Addresses welcome, lol. It's just so much fun to get a piece of mail that is not a bill/statement, a financial policy, an invitation to the local hate-filled evangelical church. The other part of this is that that I am going to AGAIN do the rounds of everyone who sends us stuff that should be emailed and get off their paper lists. The insurance company and medical providers are the worse, as are all the financial companies who want us to vote our shares or whatever that is.
