My boyo is a good boyo.
22 Nov 2021 17:00Linnea is having a hard time of it. She's just... done with the quarter. What's more it's manifesting itself in the form of a spiraling anxiety feedback loop about food. She doesn't want to see anyone (done with even other people, which is telling for my little extrovert), and she usually eats with people, so she doesn't want to eat, and feels like crap because she isn't eating, so she goes to eat, and the food is gross, and she's anxious because she's by herself and...
But the good thing is that she texted and called me.
They're coming home tomorrow afternoon, so she just had to get through today. Note that she was upset, but not in a sobbing can't cope mess, she was still able to talk things through enough that she could deal until tomorrow. If she hadn't been, I'd have driven up today to get her.
Anyhow, I texted Perry telling him what was going on with her (I did tell her I'd text Perry). He was with some friends (standing Monday evening for him, they make a point of it). He said he'd noticed the campus food/eating anxiety thing. My ask for him was to get her some food, and told him that even bringing her some crackers and a can of her beloved Campbell's chickie noodle soup would be fine.
He ditched his plans for the evening and took her out to dinner. She sounded SO much better when we all texted later.
I like that my kids have each other's backs.
