How quickly the weekends of a month fill up. I was hoping to get out camping or hiking.
October 2-3: dh at trains (he was there today too) and Tail of the Lake regatta (Perry rowing and coaching.)
October 9-10: Linnea appointment for enhanced ID and hauling furniture to Bellingham for Perry.
October 15-16-17: d*gsitting AC's d*g. NOT looking forward to this but eh, she asked and we'll do it. But ew, d*g here for three days. My poor cats.
October 23-24: Sunday is Perry's HOCR race, Sunday is FREE at this point, I suspect dh will fill it with trains.
October 30-31: This may be our only free weekend of the month.
November, so far, isn't looking much better:
November 6-7: Sunday is Head of the Lake, biggest regatta on on the West coast.
November 13-14: free! So far.
November 20-21 This one is on me: Julefest at the National Nordic Musuem. I wanna go.
November 27-28 Thanksgiving weekend.
Yipes.
I was hoping to get out camping one weekend, specifically to Yellowstone... then I looked at reservations and there is zip to be had. Not a single spot for a single day at any campground in Yellowstone that I was able to find. It's been like this all summer. I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever get camping again, since we prefer a flexible schedule... and at this point, I'd never dare do what we used to, go with three days booked at the pre-bookable sites and then head out early morning to find a spot in the less amenities but imo much nicer first come first served sites and spend the rest of the week there. The reserveable campgrounds were usually fine with us bugging out and we'd even get money back, LOL. I guess I'm a bit bitter because I finally have a bit of flexibility to travel in the off-season and on random dates, and I can't do it because everyone ELSE seems to be able to as well. Did half the country retire or decide to go live #vanlife? WTF?
