Whoosh.

At 9:45pm last night, I remembered something that Perry and I had idly been talking about one of us doing and neither had done.

So I did it.

And found out... that he could race in one of the two big fall head races in the area, in this case, Tail of the Lake, which is on Friday. He had a whole 2 hours!!! to sign up.

49 texts and 45 dollars later, we had the registration. This morning I finished dealing with the rowing governing body, so to speak, and all should be well. Because his school is club for men's rowing, he's ok to actually do this, his coach thinks. Fingers crossed that the coach is right.

So yeah. Sunday will be a "get up EARLY" day.

And, exciting bit, he'll be rowing in in the first race for Head of the Lake, which is the REALLY big Western head race. First race, because that's the one for the collegiate varsity boats. EEEK! I doubt he'll be in their top boat, but he's supposed to be in one of them! This being my son, he wants to row his single two hours later. I'm not quite sure that is realistic, but if anyone can do it, he can. That kid....

We have regattas of one sort of the other for 4 of the next 5 weekends. Whee!
