nwhikerI was looking at my local results. My Dem rep easily won re-election... but when I looked at the numbers, I had a moment of total shock.
I didn't even know the name of her R opponent. Neither did dh.
My district was modified in 2010 to try to make it "more competitive", ie Republican. It goes from high tech suburbs near Seattle all the way up to the Canadian border, avoiding the more liberal cities of the I5 corridor. Highest state exports of software and raspberries.
Needless to say, I suspect the Republican didn't even bother to campaign around here. I had not seen a single sign with his name, never got a single mailer etc.
