Trying to decide

Normally I am not a vitamin person. As in, I haven't taken a vitamin in... probably almost two decades. I'm not sure they're really necessary and since I do live in the PNW, a vitamin D supplement might make sense, but I've never chased down a study that made the benefit crystal clear and I'm always mistrustful of bandwagons.

But.

I'm on a pretty low calorie diet.

And I'm wondering if I should take a multivitamin for the duration, because I am most certainly not getting enough of some vitamins and minerals via diet at this point.

But OMG, finding out if vitamin supplementation while in a weight loss phase is useful or not is... like looking for the proverbial needles in a haystack. Because so fucking many scammers promote their scammy 'take this supplement for weight loss' bs all over the place, I haven't really been able to find any solid data.

I'll try again tomorrow. Blah.

is there any reason NOT to take one? I mean, there's a possible benefit (if you aren't getting enough of something), but would it hurt? Get Nature Made or some name brand like that at Target or Costco and skip the scammers. (I take Nature Made Vitamin D, relatively low dose, recommended many years ago by a doctor before the pendulum swung back to wherever it is now. But even at that point, she was citing evidence and not telling me to take some kind of megadose, so I went with it.)

Unrelated to vitamins, I while back I reported on a price increase in white whole wheat pastry flour at my local bulk food store. Happy to report the price went back down to 99 cents a pound! (i noticed other items in the flour section where they had crossed out and lowered prices; i wonder if their supplier lowered prices?)

I get the adult gummy vitamins. The regular pills made me nauseous, but the gummies don't. I take a gummy multivitamin, gummy vitamin D, and gummy calcium.
